Any national or resident without a Civil Identity Card is subject to the penalty provided for in Article 33 or Law No. 32/82 pertaining to the civil information system. In case of any change in address, the old Civil Identity Card must be replaced with a new one. Banned items: It is strictly forbidden to bring into the country – weapons, drugs and any kind of alcohol, there are no restrictions on currency taken in or out of the country. No vaccination certificates are legally required for entry to Kuwait.

Public Holidays



Friday is the official weekly holiday. For Kuwait University, public and private schools and some major companies such as Kuwait Oil Company, the official weekend is Thursday and Friday; while Kuwait Petroleum Corporation and most of its affiliate companies who work an 8-hour day take Friday and Saturday off.


Restaurants

Kuwait has a wide variety of restaurants. In addition to the hotel restaurants, there are a large number of modern fast food chains such as, Wimpy, Hardees, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Pizza Italia, etc.
 

There are also a large number of Arab popular restaurants serving a variety of Falafel, Fool, Hommos and Shawarmas. There are also Indian, Filipino, Korean and Chinese restaurants. Strict health standards are regularly enforced on all restaurants in Kuwait.




Taxis

There are three kinds of taxi service. The orange colored private Taxis are hailed from the roadside, other Orange Taxis travel along set routes picking up several passengers at one time, and transport passengers from one area to another.

The third kind of taxi service is the radio-controlled call-taxi which can only be used by contacting the company office by telephone. There are also car rental companies. Vehicles on daily or monthly rentals are available.




Transport

Kuwait Transport Co (KTC) buses provide transport to passengers, with fares ranging from 150 fills within the city to 300 fills for long trips outlaying urban areas.
